Infinite Campus Parent Portal
Nashwauk-Keewatin utilizes the Parent Portal, a web based student information page. You have 24 hour access to your student’s class schedule, grades, missing work, behavior, health information, and any fees owed. You can also access your food service account here. Please keep your email information up to date so teachers may contact you through Parent Portal. If you need assistance or login information, please call Mardell Bevacqua at 218-885-1280, ext. 51102. There is also a link to URTurn to track credits, attendance, and students can make their own personal goals. app.urturn.org
iPads
Students in grades 7-10 will be issued a school ipad. Students and guardians must sign a contract and acceptable use policy. Students may take the technology home, but turn them in at the end of each school year. No cell phones are allowed during class time.
Notice from the District School Nurse
The MN Dept. of Health set guidelines regarding immunization requirements for all students entering 5th-12th grade. To attend school, there must be up to date or a medical exemption (with physician’s signature) or a notarized conscientious objector form must be on file. You will be contacted if your child is not in compliance.

The ISD 319 web page may be viewed at www.isd319.org and the link to the high school is under Schools. The student handbook, activities calendar, and live feed can be found on the school website.
Food Service
Please fill out a Free & Reduced Lunch Program application every year, even if you may not qualify. The school receives funding for each application made, and when you complete a form, your student may have FREE breakfast all year! Cost of lunch is $2.45. Payments can be made online via the Parent Portal.
Activities/Athletics
Register online for arts, activities and athletics at www.isd319.org. Registration and updated physicals must be completed before a student may participate. Mr. Kyle Giorgi is the NKHS AD and may be contacted at kgiorgi@isd319.org.
School Day
School starts at 8:26AM. On M, T, Th., and F, the day ends at 3:06PM. Each Wednesday, students are released at 2:30PM. Students are not allowed to stay after school without supervision from a teacher or coach.
Spartan Pride Time
Wednesday mornings, students participate in an Advisory period called Spartan Pride Time to learn financial education, career and college readiness, soft skills, character education, and self-awareness.
Food/Drinks
Food and drinks are not allowed in the classroom or hallways, unless coordinated by a teacher for a class activity.
Cell phones/personal electronics
Personal devices are not to be used in the classrooms or restrooms or locker rooms.
Hats
For safety and as a sign of respect, students must not wear hats in the building, unless they are in the shop area, or have a medical reason or religious reason for wearing head coverings.
Tobacco-free campus
E-cigarettes, vapes, and tobacco products are not allowed on campus.
Bullying/harassment

Testing
7th and 8th graders take the MCA Reading and Math tests. 10th graders take the biology and reading MCA tests. 11th graders take the Math MCA and they have the opportunity to take the ACT at school. MCA and ACT test scores can be used for college entry.
Attendance Matters!
Ten absences from class may result in loss of credit, and students will have to retake the class, and may not graduate on time.
Credits Count!
Students need 23 credits by May of their Senior year in order to graduate on time. Credits are counted between 9th-12th grades. Students earn seven credits per year.
