Mrs. Furey and Dr. Joshi chaperoned a trip for our 8th and 9th graders to the Boundary Waters in Ely, MN. Thank you to Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness and Wilderness Inquiry for this amazing experience to connect with nature and face challenges together! Our students demonstrated resilience, leadership, and adaptation throughout their experience and we could not be prouder.

The final Spartan Outdoors project was completed today! This year, Spartan Outdoors partnered with Conservation Crew (student leadership program that helps fund and facilitate conservation projects for middle school kids) to design and create an informative kiosk about the O’Brien Reservoir. With help from the City of Keewatin and my dad, the kiosk was installed today. It gives the history of O’Brien, fishing tips, lure and rod lending library, line recycling, and features to see on the water itself. I’m glad we can finally give back to a community that gives so much to the school. Please stop out and see it!
The kiosk is located near the fishing pier at O’Brien inbetween the towns of Keewatin, Minnesota and Nashwauk, MN.
Special thanks to Jerry Adam, Mr. Clouse, Conservation Crew, City of Keewatin, and all the students who designed and produced a lifetime fixture for the O’Brien area.
