To wrap up our Iditarod unit, Taylor with Chasing the Wolves Kennel came to give the 3rd graders a hands-on experience with a sled dog team. Even without snow, we got to see some of the dogs in action.











Create a watercolor painting using landscape, cityscape, and seascape as inspiration. Ms. Lampton will guide you as you use a variety of watercolor techniques to create unique textures. Ages 15 to adult.

Our 3rd graders had the opportunity to visit with two members of the National Association of Women in Construction. One of them being Max Gray Construction’s Project Manager and our local NAWIC President. They read about and discussed many of the important jobs in the construction industry.

Isaac has been named to the Central Division Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Team where he recently competed in the 2025 Junior Nationals held in Park City, Utah at the Olympic Complex. Great work Isaac!


Spartan Angling and Spartan Outdoors tag teamed a local lake today. Lots of fish before the snow started flying! A few kids first time ice fishing and others another day on the ice! Lots of smiles, tangles, new use of a Vexilar (fish flasher), and memories made! Get your kids outside!

Mr. Gleason's Senior High Knowledge Bowl wrapped up their season today. Students work in teams of four or five to answer trivia questions of multiple subjects. It has been an absolute pleasure to coach these energetic, competitive students! Thank you for your dedication and hard work!

NK, Greenway and Grand Rapids Indian Education programs
held a family event tonight at MT. Itasca.











NKHS Ojibwe Language Classes had the opportunity to sample crickets. We watched a video about Indigenous Foods from Owamni Foods in Minneapolis, MN. Ms.Carrigan decided to order some treats to sample. There were definitely some mixed reviews from students and staff.
