Ice cream, rockets, balloons, explosions and more. Our 6th grade students had a BLAST at the STEM Showcase in Hibbing yesterday.

As most of the Spartan community woke up this morning, some members of NK Bands were just getting ready to go to bed!
Last night at 6pm, band students began the first ever 12-hour Rock-a-Thon fundraiser event. This fundraiser consisted of collecting pledges and donations over the last 3 weeks, and then rocking the night away in a rocking chair at the school until 6am this morning!
Students learned quickly just how long 12 hours is when you're sitting in one place the whole time. In order to stay awake throughout the night and split up the time students had opportunities for a few some team-building activities.
All in all, it was a very fun night! Thank you to all the families, staff, friends, and community members who donated to this fundraiser for our students in order to help them travel with the NK Bands this year and in the future!

Miss Patia’s kindergarten class soaked up the last of this nice weather this afternoon by eating snack in one of the new outdoor learning spaces then enjoyed an extra recess on the playground after working hard all week! ☀️🛝

Greenway & Nashwauk-Keewatin Joint Statement on Homecoming Football Game
Dear Parents, Families, and Community Members,
As many of you know, tomorrow night’s football game was scheduled to be played in Nashwauk as part of our annual homecoming rotation. We were deeply committed to honoring that plan and providing a meaningful experience for the Nashwauk-Keewatin community. Unfortunately, earlier today we were informed that the home bleachers at the Nashwauk field cannot safely be used.
This left us with a difficult and disappointing decision. While some suggested proceeding with fans standing or bringing lawn chairs, after thorough discussion we believe that would not provide a safe, accessible, or appropriate environment for players, students, families, and community members.
For that reason, the game will be moved to Greenway’s field tomorrow night. This is not the outcome we hoped for, and we all share the deep disappointment of the Nashwauk-Keewatin community in losing their one scheduled home game this season. However, the safety and full game-day experience for our athletes, fans, and guests must come first.
All other homecoming events shared between the schools will proceed as planned (Greenway Coronation 9:15-11:00AM), Nashwauk-Keewatin Pep Fest (12:30-2:30PM), and homecoming dance open to students grades 7-12 from both schools at Nashwauk-Keewatin High School following the game (9:00 to 11:00PM).
We are grateful for the long-standing partnership between our schools and communities, and we remain committed to continuing traditions that celebrate both Greenway and Nashwauk-Keewatin. Thank you for your understanding and your continued support of our student-athletes.
Sincerely,
Lisa Smith, NK AD & Will Floersheim, Greenway AD

Find out tonight at 7pm in the main gym.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we head into a busy season of athletic events, we want to remind all families of the following important expectations to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone:
🔹 Adult Supervision Required:
All students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 must be accompanied by an adult to attend any athletic event, including volleyball, football, basketball, etc.
🔹 Stay in Designated Areas:
When events are held at the new school, students must remain in the gym area for the duration of the event. They are not permitted to wander the building, visit lockers, or access other areas of the school.
🔹 Community Gym (small gym) is Off-Limits:
During JV and Varsity games, students should not enter the community gym at any time.
🔹 No Re-Entry Policy:
Once students enter the event, they are expected to stay. If a student chooses to leave the venue, they will not be allowed to re-enter.
We appreciate your help in reinforcing these guidelines with your child to support a safe and respectful environment for our student-athletes, staff, and community members.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support!
