Dear Parents and Guardians,

We want to remind our community that ATVs, dirt bikes, and other recreational vehicles are strictly prohibited on school property at all times, including after school hours, weekends, and during breaks.

This policy is in place to protect the safety of our students, staff, and community members who use our grounds for walking, playing, or school-related activities. Unauthorized vehicle use can cause serious damage to school property, pose a danger to others, and violate local trespassing laws.

👉 Please be advised: Individuals found operating recreational vehicles on school grounds may be subject to law enforcement action, including fines, vehicle impoundment, and criminal trespass charges.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school grounds safe, clean, and respectful for everyone.

If you see unauthorized vehicles on campus, please report the activity to school administration or local authorities.

Thank you for your continued support.

Greenway & Nashwauk-Keewatin Joint Statement on Homecoming Football Game

Dear Parents, Families, and Community Members,

As many of you know, tomorrow night’s football game was scheduled to be played in Nashwauk as part of our annual homecoming rotation. We were deeply committed to honoring that plan and providing a meaningful experience for the Nashwauk-Keewatin community. Unfortunately, earlier today we were informed that the home bleachers at the Nashwauk field cannot safely be used.

This left us with a difficult and disappointing decision. While some suggested proceeding with fans standing or bringing lawn chairs, after thorough discussion we believe that would not provide a safe, accessible, or appropriate environment for players, students, families, and community members.

For that reason, the game will be moved to Greenway’s field tomorrow night. This is not the outcome we hoped for, and we all share the deep disappointment of the Nashwauk-Keewatin community in losing their one scheduled home game this season. However, the safety and full game-day experience for our athletes, fans, and guests must come first.

All other homecoming events shared between the schools will proceed as planned (Greenway Coronation 9:15-11:00AM), Nashwauk-Keewatin Pep Fest (12:30-2:30PM), and homecoming dance open to students grades 7-12 from both schools at Nashwauk-Keewatin High School following the game (9:00 to 11:00PM).

We are grateful for the long-standing partnership between our schools and communities, and we remain committed to continuing traditions that celebrate both Greenway and Nashwauk-Keewatin. Thank you for your understanding and your continued support of our student-athletes.

Sincerely,

Lisa Smith, NK AD & Will Floersheim, Greenway AD

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we head into a busy season of athletic events, we want to remind all families of the following important expectations to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone:

🔹 Adult Supervision Required:
All students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 must be accompanied by an adult to attend any athletic event, including volleyball, football, basketball, etc.

🔹 Stay in Designated Areas:
When events are held at the new school, students must remain in the gym area for the duration of the event. They are not permitted to wander the building, visit lockers, or access other areas of the school.

🔹 Community Gym (small gym) is Off-Limits:
During JV and Varsity games, students should not enter the community gym at any time.

🔹 No Re-Entry Policy:
Once students enter the event, they are expected to stay. If a student chooses to leave the venue, they will not be allowed to re-enter.

We appreciate your help in reinforcing these guidelines with your child to support a safe and respectful environment for our student-athletes, staff, and community members.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support!
